We are sorry to announce that Prof John Whipps, currently Vice-President of BSPP, has decided not to become President-Elect in 2009 on grounds of ill health. We wish him all the best for the future.
The Board has decided that the simplest way to fill the gap in 2009 and 2010 (when John would have been President) is for the current President, Prof Graham Jellis, to continue in post until the end of June 2009, and then for the current President-Elect, Prof Sarah Gurr to hold office as President until the end of 2010.
The Board has recently appointed Prof George Salmond of Cambridge University as Vice President in 2009.
